Prompt Engineering for Business Results course cover

Good prompts in one person's chat history do not make a reliable team process.

01

Same request, different results

Three people ask the same assistant for the same message and get three different drafts, one with a detail nobody supplied. Nobody can say which version is right.

02

Prompts that live in one head

Your best results come from prompts you rewrite from memory each time. When someone else tries, the output drifts and the fixes are lost.

03

No way to know a prompt still works

Tools and models change without notice. Without test cases and pass checks, a prompt that worked last month can quietly start making mistakes.

Learning outcomes

What you will be able to do

Eight practical outcomes, each practiced in an exercise and checked in the final assessment or the capstone.

  1. Explain why the same prompt can produce inconsistent results and apply the prompting principles that the major vendor guides share.
  2. Protect confidential and personal data when prompting by following company policy and sorting inputs before they reach an AI tool.
  3. Build reusable prompt templates with fixed instructions, clearly marked variables and well-chosen examples.
  4. Specify output contracts, ground answers in supplied sources and decide when to ask for step-by-step reasoning.
  5. Design multi-step prompt chains with clean handoffs, human checkpoints and critique steps.
  6. Test prompts with a test set, written pass criteria, scoring methods and regression checks.
  7. Reduce prompt injection risk from untrusted content and apply human review proportional to the stakes.
  8. Assemble and govern a Prompt Library for one real workflow.

The Camderson method

Teaching tools for prompts that hold up when other people use them

The Data Sort and the Template Card

Share · Strip · Stop · Inputs · Prompt · Output contract · Tested · Owner

Sort every input before it reaches an AI tool, then write each template on a card that another person can run correctly, with its variables, data rules, test results and owner.

The Output Contract and the Chain Map

Format · Fields · Length · Allowed values · Missing information · Source

Say exactly what the output must look like and what to do when information is missing, then map multi-step work as Input, Prompt, Output and Check for each step.

The Test Bench

Typical · Edge · Tricky · Yes/no checks · Results by version

Test a prompt against realistic cases with written pass checks before you share it, and rerun the same tests whenever the template, tool or model changes.

The Release Checklist and the Prompt Library

Draft · Template · Test · Release · Review

Release a template only when its data, output, grounding, injection handling, tests, review level and owner are in place, and keep the library on a review rhythm.

Write it once, test it, then share it.

Curriculum

Inside the course

Six modules, 18 lessons with worked examples and video

01

From Good Prompts to Reliable Prompts

Why the same prompt gives different results, what the official prompting guides from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Microsoft agree on, and the Data Sort for prompting safely with business data.

02

Building Reusable Prompt Templates

The anatomy of a template with fixed text, variables and delimiters, the Template Card, instructions a model can follow, and examples that teach.

03

Controlling the Output

The Output Contract for format, fields and length, grounding answers in your own sources with permission to say "not stated", and when to ask a model to reason step by step.

04

Multi-Step Prompt Chains

When one prompt is doing too much, the Chain Map, clean handoffs and human checkpoints, and critique steps with a checklist and the source.

05

Testing and Improving Prompts

The Test Bench: typical, edge and tricky test cases, yes/no pass checks, scoring with people and model graders, versions and regression checks.

06

Running a Prompt Library Safely

Prompt injection and untrusted content, review levels and accountability, and your Prompt Library with owners, a Release Checklist and a review rhythm.

Is this course right for you?

This course is for you if

  • You already use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot or a similar assistant at work and want results you can repeat
  • Your best prompts live in your chat history and you want templates other people on your team can run correctly
  • You want to test prompts, control their output and keep a shared library safe, with no coding required

It is not the right fit if

  • You are new to AI assistants (start with CA-AI-001 ChatGPT & AI for Business Professionals, which this course builds on)
  • You want to build automated workflows or agents that run without a person (CA-AI-002 AI Automation & Agents for Business covers those)
  • You need software development, API integration or model training (this course works in a chat assistant and does not cover code)

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Every technique is taught in a chat assistant. Where a feature needs an API or an admin setting, the lesson says so and keeps your version tool-neutral.

Which AI tools does it work with?

The principles work in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and similar assistants. The course is vendor-neutral: it cites what each vendor's guidance says and avoids menu paths and plan comparisons, which change often. Use the assistant your organization has approved.

How long do I have access?

Your access does not expire. We review the course regularly, and any updates are added for you at no extra cost.

How long does it take?

About 5 hours in total, including the written lessons and their videos, the Try it exercises, the knowledge checks, the final assessment and the capstone. Everything is self-paced.

Do I need to use my company's data?

No. Every exercise works with the fictional Wrenfield Practice Pack. If you use your own work instead, follow your organization's AI policy and the Data Sort taught in Lesson 1.3, and keep personal data, credentials and client confidential details out of your prompts.

Is the certificate accredited, or does it carry professional credit?

Neither. You receive a Camderson Academy Certificate of Completion after passing the final assessment and the capstone, a Prompt Library that a person reviews. It is not an academic credential and does not carry continuing education, recertification or other professional credit.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. You are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the course is not right for you, email connect@camderson.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No questions asked. Your course access ends when the refund is issued.

What tools do I need?

Access to an AI assistant your organization has approved, a spreadsheet program that opens .xlsx files, a word processor that opens .docx files and a PDF reader. All templates and practice files are included as downloads.

Write it once, test it, then share it.

Self-paced, about 5 hours, with the Wrenfield Practice Pack, a Workbook, a Test Bench spreadsheet, a Template Card, a Chain Map and a Release Checklist to help you build reusable templates, control and ground the output, chain steps with human checkpoints, test before you share and run a Prompt Library safely.

Backed by our 30-day money-back guarantee.
