AI for Data Analysis and Reporting course cover

AI makes analysis faster. It does not make every number right.

01

Numbers nobody can trace

An AI summary reads well and sounds sure, but a total, a percentage or a customer name in it does not match the data, and nobody can say where it came from.

02

Messy data, quiet fixes

Duplicates, a test order, a typing error and mixed dates sit in the export. Some get fixed, some do not, and nobody wrote down which.

03

Charts and reports that mislead

A cropped axis makes a small dip look like a collapse, and the real answer is buried on page three, so people decide on the wrong picture.

Learning outcomes

What you will be able to do

Eight practical outcomes, each practiced in an exercise and checked in the final assessment or the capstone.

  1. Explain how AI data analysis features produce numbers and where they go wrong, and choose the right feature for a task.
  2. Protect personal and confidential data before using AI by checking tool approval, data terms and the minimum data a question needs.
  3. Frame an analysis with a clear question, decision, audience and metric definitions before touching the data.
  4. Profile and clean a dataset with AI help while keeping every change visible, tested and reversible.
  5. Summarize, compare and explain business data with AI, and verify every number against the source and a control total.
  6. Build honest, readable and accessible charts and fix misleading AI-made ones.
  7. Write answer-first reports with AI help and fact-check every claim before anyone relies on them.
  8. Make analysis reproducible and run recurring AI-assisted reporting responsibly as a team.

The Camderson method

Teaching tools for analysis you can check, starting with your next report

The Data Share Check and the Analysis Brief

Approved tool and account · Minimum for the question · Remove or replace · Look for hidden data · Record what you shared · Question · Decision · Definitions · Checks · Output

Decide what data may go into an AI tool before anything is uploaded, then frame the question on one page so everyone agrees what the numbers mean.

The Data Profile and the Cleaning Log

Shape · Keys · Types · Gaps · Ranges · Categories · Totals · Problem · Rule · Rows affected · Method · Confirmed by · Reversible

Look before you trust, then clean in steps anyone can see, check and undo.

The Control Total Check and the Number Trace

Every breakdown adds to the total · The total equals the trusted figure · List every number · Find its source · Recompute it · Mark it · Fix or remove

Tie every summary to a figure you trust, and trace every number in an AI answer back to the data before it goes in a report.

The Honest Chart Check and the Two-Person Review

Zero for bars · One value axis · Fair range · Consistent scales · Labels and units · Context · Author checks · Reviewer spot-traces · Sign-off recorded

Draw charts that tell the truth at a glance, and have a second person check the key numbers before anyone relies on the report.

Every AI number is a draft until you can show where it came from.

Is this course right for you?

This course is for you if

  • You turn spreadsheets into answers for other people: analysts and coordinators, people in sales, operations, customer service, finance, HR and marketing, team leads, managers and owners, in any department
  • You use, or want to use, ChatGPT, Copilot in Excel, Gemini in Google Sheets or a similar tool for analysis, and want to know which numbers you can trust
  • You want templates, checklists and practice files you can use with your next report, and habits that make every number traceable

It is not the right fit if

  • You are brand new to spreadsheets (CA-TD-001 Microsoft Excel for Business covers sorting, filtering and formulas first)
  • You want to learn statistics, coding or data engineering (this course stays in the spreadsheet and needs no coding)
  • You mainly need AI policy and governance for your organization (CA-AI-007 Responsible AI Use and Governance at Work covers that)
  • You want a product recommendation or pricing advice for a specific AI plan (the course describes features neutrally and points you to the official help pages)

Do I need any experience or a previous course?

No previous course is required and no coding is needed. It is an intermediate course: you should be comfortable sorting, filtering and writing simple formulas in a spreadsheet. CA-AI-001 ChatGPT & AI for Business Professionals and CA-TD-001 Microsoft Excel for Business are helpful background.

Who is this course for?

Anyone on any team who reports on spreadsheet data: analysts and coordinators, people in sales, operations, customer service, finance, HR and marketing, team leads, managers and owners. The examples come from a food wholesaler, and the tools fit offices, clinics, agencies, shops, nonprofits and businesses of every size.

How long do I have access?

How long does it take?

About 6 hours in total, including the written lessons and their videos, the Try it exercises, the knowledge checks, the final assessment and the capstone. Everything is self-paced.

Do I have to use real data for the capstone?

No. You can complete your AI-Assisted Analysis and Report on the fictional Kittering Youth Sports League data included in the course. If you use real data, use only data your organization approves for the purpose, remove names, contact details and other personal information, and leave out confidential figures.

Do I need a paid AI tool?

If you do use one, use only a tool and account your organization has approved for the data. Features and plans change, so the lessons date every product detail and point you to the official help pages.

Is the certificate accredited, or does it carry professional credit?

Neither. You receive a Camderson Academy Certificate of Completion after passing the final assessment and the capstone, an analysis and report that a person reviews. It is not an academic credential and does not carry continuing education or other professional credit.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. You are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the course is not right for you, email connect@camderson.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No questions asked. Your course access ends when the refund is issued.
