AI Strategy for Executives and Business Owners course cover

Your people are already using AI. The plan has not caught up.

01

Pitches without a plan

Every week brings a new AI product and a confident demo. Without clear goals, it is hard to tell which ones would actually help your customers and your teams.

02

Good ideas, scattered

People in every team have found useful ways to use AI on their own, but nobody can see them all, compare them fairly or decide what comes first.

03

Hope instead of evidence

Business cases rest on a single optimistic number, risks are discussed after launch, and nobody agreed how success would be measured.

Learning outcomes

What you will be able to do

Eight practical outcomes, each practiced in an exercise and checked in the final assessment or the capstone.

  1. Start an AI strategy from business goals, and explain where today's AI helps and where it falls short.
  2. Assess your organization's readiness for AI across direction, data, people, processes, technology and governance.
  3. Find AI opportunities in every team by looking at tasks with the people who do the work.
  4. Score and prioritize AI use cases with a transparent scorecard and a risk gate.
  5. Build honest business cases with costs, benefits, ranges and a sourcing choice.
  6. Set an AI risk appetite and manage roadmap risks, building on an AI use policy and risk register.
  7. Lead the people side of AI and put in place the operating model and foundations that let AI scale responsibly.
  8. Sequence a roadmap with success measures and decision gates, and govern it over time.

The Camderson method

Teaching tools that turn AI ideas into a plan your whole organization can follow

The Goals First Map and the Opportunity Lens

Goal and measure · Work in the way · Who does it · Could help · Effort · Errors · Experience · Expansion

Start from what the business needs, then find opportunities task by task with the people who know the work best.

The Use-Case Scorecard and the Honest Business Case

Risk gate first · Value · Feasibility · Readiness · Risk · Cash · Capacity · Strategic · Low, Expected and High

Compare very different ideas fairly, and show every investment as a range, with cash and freed time kept apart.

The AI Risk Appetite Statement and the People Impact Map

We will · With approval · We will not, for now · Tasks that change · Where the time goes · Skills · Support · Voice

Decide how much risk you will take and where, and plan for the people whose work will change.

The Now, Next, Later Roadmap and the Measure Set

Foundations first · Capacity · Decision dates · Outcome · Process · Leading · Balancing · Scale, Adjust or Stop

Put the work in the right order and decide on evidence, not enthusiasm.

Goals first. People always. Evidence every time.

Curriculum

Inside the course

Four modules, 12 lessons with worked examples and video

01

Where AI Fits in Your Business

Start with the business, not the tool, using the Goals First Map; read your readiness with the AI Readiness Scan; and find opportunities in every team with the Opportunity Lens.

02

Choosing Where to Invest

Score and prioritize use cases with the Use-Case Scorecard, build an Honest Business Case with ranges, NPV and payback, and choose to build, buy or partner with the Sourcing Check.

03

Risk, People and Foundations

Set your AI Risk Appetite Statement, lead the people side of AI with the People Impact Map, and build the AI Operating Model and foundations that let good pilots scale.

04

The Roadmap and Measuring Success

Sequence the Now, Next, Later Roadmap, set a Measure Set and Decision Gate for every pilot, and govern the plan with a Review Rhythm and your AI Strategy on a Page.

Is this course right for you?

This course is for you if

  • You own or lead a business or a team and need to decide where AI fits, what to fund first and how to know it is working
  • You help shape your organization's AI plans: a team lead, analyst, or someone in finance, operations, HR, IT, sales, marketing or customer service who sits on a working group, runs a workshop, builds a business case or pilots a tool
  • You want a plan your people helped build and can follow, with tools and a roadmap model you can use the week you finish

It is not the right fit if

  • You are brand new to AI tools (CA-AI-001 ChatGPT & AI for Business Professionals is the recommended first course)
  • You mainly need to write an AI use policy and risk review process (CA-AI-007 Responsible AI Use and Governance at Work covers that, and this course builds on it)
  • You want to build automations or agents hands-on (CA-AI-002 AI Automation & Agents for Business covers that)
  • You want a recommendation for a specific AI product or vendor (the course names no products and teaches you how to choose)
