Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 at Work course cover, Camderson Academy

Copilot is in your apps. Making it part of your day is the hard part.

01

Generic answers

A three-word prompt gets a polite, generic draft. Without the right context and sources, Copilot cannot give you something worth sending.

02

Unsure what is safe

People are not sure which information they can use with Copilot, what it can see, or what to do when it shows them something unexpected.

03

Confident but wrong

A fluent summary can miss a deadline, a recap can name the wrong owner and a number can look right and be wrong. Without a habit of checking, mistakes slip through.

Learning outcomes

What you will be able to do

Eight practical outcomes, each practiced in an exercise and checked in the final assessment or the capstone.

  1. Explain what Copilot is, how Copilot Chat differs from Copilot with work content, and which experience you have.
  2. Write clear prompts with a goal, context, source and expectations, plus a planned check, and refine through conversation.
  3. Protect data and follow your organization's policy when you use Copilot.
  4. Draft, rewrite, summarize and question documents in Word, checking them against their sources.
  5. Summarize threads, draft replies and use coaching in Outlook, verifying facts before you send.
  6. Use Copilot in Teams meetings, chats and channels to catch up and capture actions.
  7. Build presentations in PowerPoint and analyze data in Excel, proving every number you share.
  8. Check every Copilot output at the right depth and build your own Copilot Playbook.

The Camderson method

Simple routines that make Copilot useful and safe in everyday work

The Prompt Card and the Safe Share Check

Goal · Context · Source · Expectations · Check · Green · Amber · Red

Ask for what you need with the context a colleague would need, and know which information belongs in Copilot before you share it.

Draft, Shape, Own and the Summary Spot-Check

Draft from named sources · Shape section by section · Own every sentence · Trace · Match · Probe

Get past the blank page fast, then make every sentence and every summary something you can stand behind.

Routines for Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint

Summarize · Verify · Draft · Coach · Send · Before, During, After · Catch-Up Questions · Story First Deck

Work your inbox, run meetings and catch up on chats with routines that keep the facts straight.

Ask, Then Prove and the Output Check

Prepare · Ask · Prove · Define · Record · Source · Facts · Numbers · Reader · Policy

Prove every number you share, check every output at the right depth, and turn it all into your own Copilot Playbook.

Draft faster. Check every time. Spend the time where it matters.
