Responsible AI Use and Governance at Work course cover

AI is already part of the work. Clear rules make it work for everyone.

01

Everyone is guessing

People in every department draft, summarize and analyze with AI, often on their own accounts. Without shared guidance, each person decides alone where the lines are.

02

Information in the wrong place

Customer lists, employee details and contracts can end up in tools nobody approved, under terms nobody read, and once shared they are hard to take back.

03

Output nobody owns

AI can sound confident and still be wrong or unfair. When no one is named to check it, mistakes reach customers, colleagues and decisions about people.

Learning outcomes

What you will be able to do

Six practical outcomes, each practiced in an exercise and checked in the final assessment or the capstone.

  1. Explain what responsible AI use means at work, where AI helps and where it can mislead, and why responsibility is shared by everyone who uses it.
  2. Protect confidential, personal and customer information when choosing and using AI tools.
  3. Check AI output for accuracy and fairness before relying on it, with a named person accountable for the result.
  4. Describe the main rules and frameworks that apply to workplace AI, including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, the EU AI Act, U.S. state and local laws, FTC rules, anti-discrimination law and copyright, and keep a dated watch list of them.
  5. Sort AI uses by risk and run a simple risk review with a risk register.
  6. Draft, roll out and keep current an AI acceptable-use policy, including disclosure, training, incident reporting and regular review.

The Camderson method

Teaching tools for responsible AI you can use tomorrow

The Traffic Light Data Check

Green: public and internal · Yellow: confidential, approved tools only · Red: personal and regulated, never in a general AI tool

Before you paste, name the most sensitive item you are sharing. It decides the light, and the light decides which tools may see it.

Verify Before You Rely

Facts · Sources · Fairness · Fit · Owner

Five questions to ask before AI output leaves your hands or shapes a decision, with a deeper review whenever people's jobs, money, health or rights are affected.

The Risk Tier Sorter and the AI Risk Register

Everyday · Review · Restricted · Not allowed · Owner · Score · Key control · Decision · Next review

Sort every AI use with four questions in order, then record it in a register with an owner, its scores before and after controls, and a date to look again.

The One-Page AI Use Policy and the Review Rhythm

Ten plain sections · A short not-allowed list · Disclosure · Reporting · Owner · Version · Review dates

Write rules people can read in five minutes, roll them out with role-based training and a safe way to report problems, and keep them current as tools and laws change.

Use it well. Keep it safe. Keep it current.

Is this course right for you?

This course is for you if

  • You use AI tools at work, in any role or department: customer service, sales, operations, finance, marketing, IT, HR, team leads, owners and everyone in between
  • You are not sure what you may paste into an AI tool, how much to trust what comes back, or when to tell people AI was involved
  • You have been asked to help your team or company set AI rules, or you sit on an AI working group, and you want a practical policy, a risk register and a review process you can use this month

It is not the right fit if

  • You mainly want to get better results from AI tools for everyday writing, research and analysis (CA-AI-001 ChatGPT & AI for Business Professionals and CA-AI-003 Prompt Engineering for Business Results cover that)
  • You need deep technical training in AI security controls or data protection engineering (this course gives everyday data rules and points to the specialists)
  • You need legal advice on a specific AI law, contract or decision (the course points you to the official sources and a qualified legal adviser)

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience or a previous course?

No. This is a beginner course with no technical background needed. It works whether you use AI tools every day or are just starting, and whether or not your workplace already has AI rules.

Who is this course for?

Everyone who uses AI at work, in every role and every department, and the people who help their team or company set AI rules. The examples come from a building supply company with sales, customer service, operations, finance, HR, marketing and IT teams, and the tools fit offices, shops, clinics, nonprofits, public services and companies of any size.

How long do I have access?

Your access does not expire. AI rules change often, so we review this course regularly, and any updates are added for you at no extra cost.

How long does it take?

About 4 hours in total, including the written lessons and their videos, the Try it exercises, the knowledge checks, the final assessment and the capstone. Everything is self-paced, and most exercises use your own work and your own team.

Do I have to use my own team for the capstone?

No. You can build your AI Use Policy and Risk Register for the fictional Kettlebrook Veterinary Group using the brief included. If you use a real team, use roles instead of names and leave out confidential business and security details.

Is this legal advice?

No. This course is general education about using and governing AI at work. It is not legal advice. AI laws, regulations, agency guidance and vendor terms change often and vary by location, industry and organization, so check the official sources named in each lesson and talk with a qualified legal adviser before you rely on a rule, adopt a policy, or use AI in decisions about people.

Is the certificate accredited, or does it carry professional credit?

Neither. You receive a Camderson Academy Certificate of Completion after passing the final assessment and the capstone, an AI use policy and risk register that a person reviews. It is not an academic credential and does not carry continuing education, continuing professional education (CPE) or other professional credit.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. You are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the course is not right for you, email connect@camderson.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No questions asked. Your course access ends when the refund is issued.

What tools do I need?

A spreadsheet program that opens .xlsx files (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers or LibreOffice Calc), a word processor that opens .docx files and a PDF reader. You do not need any particular AI tool; the course works with whichever tools your workplace uses or approves.

Use it well. Keep it safe. Keep it current.

Self-paced, about 4 hours, with a Workbook, AI Policy and Risk Review Templates, an AI Risk Register spreadsheet and Quick Reference Cards to help you protect information, check what AI gives you, understand the rules and build a one-page AI use policy and risk register your team can follow.
