Working Across Teams: Clean Handoffs and Shared Projects course cover, Camderson Academy

Working with other teams can be smoother, quicker and more enjoyable.

01

Understand and ask

A Dependency Map, a Team Profile and a Request Card help you see who you rely on and ask in a way that is easy to say yes to.

02

Hand off and deliver

A Handoff Note, a Handoff Check, a Shared Plan Snapshot and a Heads-Up Note help work move from one team to the next without lost time.

03

Settle snags early

Snag Conversation Script Cards give you plain words for raising a problem with the person, and then with both managers together.

Learning outcomes

What you will be able to do

Practical outcomes, each practiced in an exercise and checked in the final assessment or the capstone.

  1. Build a Dependency Map of the people and teams you rely on and who rely on you, and rate each relationship.
  2. Write a one-page Team Profile for another team and draft a request that fits what that team needs.
  3. Write clear requests with the need, reason, date, format and decider, and draft a Working Agreement with a partner team.
  4. Complete a Handoff Note and check a received handoff with a five point Handoff Check.
  5. Write your part of a shared plan, a three line status update and an early Heads-Up Note.
  6. Work a cross-team snag through four steps and draft a bring-it-up message and a joint request to both managers.
